Tura, Dec 21: The NH51 Garo Hills Fest 2024, a platform for rock bands to showcase their musical talents, concluded with a thrilling finale on Saturday at Asanang in West Garo Hills district.
The festival came alive with electrifying performances, raw energy and fierce competition as seven bands took the stage.
Emerging victorious, Armoured Band from Karbi Anglong claimed the top spot in the contest, walking away with a cash prize of Rs. 50,000.
Wrath Befall, a band from Tura, secured the second position, earning Rs. 30,000, while Nyctophilia, also from Tura, bagged the third prize and received Rs. 20,000.
The competition hosted five rock bands from across Garo Hills and two bands from Karbi Anglong, each bringing their best to the stage. The lineup of contestants included:

3.Northrock (Garo Hills)
4.Kimindam (Garo Hills)
5.Armoured (Karbi Anglong)
6.The Redeemer (Karbi Anglong)
7.OLIMEa (Garo Hills)
In addition to claiming the grand prize, Armoured Band dominated the individual awards, sweeping categories like Best Vocalist, Best Lead Guitarist, Best Bassist and Best Drummer.
The award was distributed by Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Speaker, Thomas Sangma, who also graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
