TURA, July 28: Richard Marak, one of the top youth leaders of the Trinamool Congress and close aide of former chief minister Mukul Sangma, who was arrested on Wednesday in Tura for his alleged role in the conspiracy hatched to attack the CM mini secretariat resulting in widespread violence has been admitted to Tura Civil Hospital after he complained of feeling sick.
Richard had been sent to police custody for three days by the district court in Tura after police moved the court for his custody to investigate the conspiracy behind the attack on the mini secretariat at Dakopgre, Tura while chief minister Conrad K Sangma was holding talks with protest group ACHIK on Monday evening.
On Wednesday after his arrest he complained of feeling sick and unease and was escorted to Tura civil hospital for medical check up where doctors admitted him for further medical tests and supervision.
His role in the violence became suspect after a large number of Trinamool workers involved in the attacks were arrested by police. One of the arrested Trinamool supporters is alleged to have told police that he stayed the night after the attack in Richard’s home to evade police.
Although police had got a three day remand for his interrogation, they are expected to move the court for an extension after the Trinamool leader is released from the hospital.
