SEHER, the organizing body, has curated an enriching experience for the artists. Celebrated film personality Deepti Naval honoured the camp with her presence as a guest artist. Further, three mentors are guiding participants to explore profound themes within the Ramayana, focusing on its spiritual and humanitarian dimensions without religious interpretations.

The camp brings together 34 talented artists, including 11 from ASEAN countries like Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, and the Philippines. Indian artists from diverse regions contribute significantly, with noteworthy participation from North East India’s Raphael Warjri, representing Riti Academy in Meghalaya, and Chandan Bez Barua from the Assam Government Art College.

Artists are weaving their perspectives into the theme centered on the Ramayana. Chandan Bez Barua draws from the Karbi people’s interpretation of the epic, while Raphael Warjri connects the concept of royal motherhood, represented by Pahsyntiew, to Sita, exploring parallels with Khasi folklore. ASEAN artists, familiar with the Ramayana, have added their own cultural interpretations, resulting in dynamic and refreshing artworks.
