Arunachal Pradesh: Cloudburst in Itanagar triggers landslides, flash flood like situation

Itanagar, June 23: Following a cloud burst, several areas of Itanagar city have been inundated with heavy rainfall causing significant damage to houses and vehicles.

The twin capital city of Itanagar and Naharlagun is currently facing severe flood conditions in various parts.

Reports indicate that numerous houses and vehicles have been damaged due to the floodwaters, with the capital complex witnessing incidents of landslides affecting both vehicle and house premises.

Denizens are urged to remain vigilant and cautious amid the inclement weather conditions.

The intense downpour, which began around 10:30 am, resulted in landslides across Itanagar and surrounding areas.

According to reports, many vehicle were stranded on the highway, the lifeline for the people of the State Capital.

The district administration has issued an order and instructed the people not to venture into rivers and landslide-prone areas.

Meanwhile, district administration has set up seven designated places as relief camps.
