Arunachal Pradesh: Female wild elephant rescued at Deomali

Itanagar, May 2: The Deomali Forest Department, along with villagers of Mapoya in Arunachal Pradesh, rescued a wild female elephant on Thursday morning.

According to reports, the elephant accidentally fell into an old, abandoned well near Mapoya village on Wednesday night.

Thanks to the timely information provided by Village Chief Khumli Ngongkhum to the administration and the Forest Department, the elephant was successfully rescued.

“The wild elephant fell into the abandoned well and got stuck while passing through the area. Upon receiving the information, villagers immediately rushed to the spot. Later, the elephant was rescued,” said a local resident.
