Itanagar, April 19: A timely and coordinated approach is crucial for the smooth implementation of Arunachal Pradesh’s power infrastructure projects, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein emphasized while chairing a high-level review meeting on the Comprehensive Scheme for Strengthening the Transmission and Distribution (T&D) System on April 18 in Itanagar.

During the meeting, Mein closely reviewed the current status of the project, assessed progress made so far, and sought explanations for any delays. He underlined the growing energy demands of the state and the urgency to bolster its power transmission and distribution network.

“In recent years, we have significantly accelerated the development of the power sector in Arunachal Pradesh. Recently, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, the Power Steering Committee held a meaningful discussion at Tawang to expedite development of hydropower projects in the State,” Mein said.
He added that a robust T&D network is essential to complement the upcoming hydropower projects and ensure reliable power supply across the state.
