Guwahati, Apr 11: Assam agriculture minister and Asom Gana Parishad(AGP) president Atul Bora on Thursday said that they are fully confident that both the candidates will win from their respective seats.
Speaking to media persons, Atul Bora said, “We are cent percent hopeful because we are getting good response from the voters. We are confident enough that people will vote for development and NDA candidates and we will be the winners in both seats,”.
“After Narendra Modi became the prime minister of country, northeast is getting very special attention from the centre. Assam has witnessed unprecedented development under the leadership of Narendra Modi and Himanta Biswa Sarma. Earlier, we felt neglected, deprived and betrayed by the central government but now those days were gone. People are faithful to ‘Prime Minister Modi’ and in entire northeast the NDA candidates will come out with flying colours,” Bora stated.
AGP has been contesting in Dhubri and Barpeta Lok Sabha seats. Phani Bhusan Choudhury will contest from Barpeta while Zabed Islam will contest from Dhubri seat.
Dhubri parliamentary seat, where the minorities play the deciding role, is going to witness a triangular electoral battle among the AIUDF, the Congress and the AGP. Badruddin Ajmal is going to contest from Dhubri again. In Barpeta the Congress and the CPM are likely to be the main contenders for the AGP.
