Similar incident was reported on Friday at Bhaga Bazar area, where three vehicles with trays of eggs were vandalised by a group of locals.

Even though Assam and Mizoram government have decided to resolve their border disputes through dialogues, sporadic economic blockade still continues in Cachar district of southern Assam through which National Highway 306 passes into Mizoram.
Bhaga Bazar, about 35 km from Cachar district headquarters Silchar, is the last commercial hub about 11 kms ahead of Lailapur inter-state border where currently Central Armed Police Force (CRPF) is deputed.
Several reports of locals obstructing, harassing the drivers and occasionally vandalising vehicles have been reported through out the National Highway 306, the only lifeline for essential supplies and fuel for Mizoram.
NH 306 initiates at Silchar and stretches about 46 kms to Lailapur, the last check point in Assam side before entering Mizoram through Virengte check gate at Kolasib district and ends at Aizawl, about 170 km from its point of initiation.
Meanwhile newly appointed Cachar SP Ramandeep Kaur denied occurrence of any such incident.
“Till now 7 vehicles were vandalised by the locals at Bhaga Bazar. They obstructing the vehicles carrying essential commodities to Mizoram,” said a source.
Following a week-long stalemate between the two states during which Assam registered a case against Mizoram officials and its lone Rajya Sabha MP while Mizoram registered another against police officials and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the two states decided to resolve the issue through dialogues, and withdrew the cases. The first inter-state meeting at a cabinet-level was held on August 5, 2021.
