Guwahati, April 1: The Rabha Hasong Autonomous Council (RHAC) election is scheduled to take place on Wednesday across 14 council constituencies in Kamrup.
A total of 44 candidates are in the fray for the election, which is expected to witness a tough contest on Wednesday.
Voting will be conducted between 7:00 am and 3:00 pm in 209 designated polling stations, with 168,668 registered voters eligible to cast their ballots.
Notably, 10 polling stations will be exclusively managed by women personnel, while one polling station will be operated by specially-abled individuals, marking an inclusive approach towards the election process.
Around 600 Assam police personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order.
Polling officers, presiding officers, and security personnel have already departed for their respective polling stations with the necessary election materials.
