Assam: 5-year-old’s dead body found floating in Buridehing river in Margherita

Dibrugarh, Oct 14: In a tragic incident, a dead body of a 5-year-old child was found floating in the Buridehing river near Margherita on Monday.

The child identified as Abhimanyu Chakraborty, had been missing since Friday morning during local Durga puja celebrations.

After a four-day continuous search operation, Margherita police and the Executive Magistrate recovered the body from the river.

The body has been sent to Tinsukia Civil Hospital for an autopsy to know the exact cause of death.

According to reports, Abhimanyu had disappeared from his grandfather Satyajit Bhattacharjee’s home in Lazum ward number 4 of Margherita.
