Guwahati, Dec 9: The Assam government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has announced a major reshuffle of ministerial portfolios aimed at enhancing administrative efficiency and driving development across critical sectors.

New Ministerial Assignments

Prasanta Phukan: Power, Skill Development, Medical Education & Research, and Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana.

Kaushik Rai: Food, Public Distribution & Consumer Affairs, Mines & Minerals, and Barak Valley Development.

Krishnendu Paul: Animal Husbandry & Veterinary, Fisheries, and Public Works (Roads).

Rupesh Gowala: Labour Welfare, Tea Tribes & Adivasi Welfare, and Home (Prisons, Home Guards & Civil Defense).

Key Realignments for Senior Ministers

CM Himanta Biswa Sarma: Retains Home, Personnel, and Public Works (Buildings & Highways).

Ranjeet Kumar Dass: Panchayat & Rural Development, Judicial, and Tourism.

Atul Bora: Agriculture, Excise, and Border Protection & Development.

Keshab Mahanta: Revenue & Disaster Management, IT, and Science, Technology & Climate Change.

Urkhao Gwra Brahma: Handloom, Textiles & Sericulture, Soil Conservation, and Welfare of Bodoland.

Chandra Mohan Patowary: Act East Policy, Environment & Forest, and Parliamentary Affairs.

Ranoj Pegu: School & Higher Education and Tribal Affairs (Plain).
