Assam: CM Himanta Sarma slams Arvind Kejriwal for making misleading statement

Must read

Guwahati, April 3: A ‘war of words’ has been going on for the last several months between Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Delhi chief minister and APP convener Arvind Kejriwal.

On Sunday (April 2), Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma slammed Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, just hours after he concluded his Assam visit.

Sarma claimed that the Delhi CM “made misleading statements” during his visit to Guwahati.

“He (Arvind Kejriwal) said that his government gave 12 lakh jobs. But how can he give this many jobs when there are only 1.5 lakh job vacancies in Delhi?” questioned Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The Assam chief minister also said that he will write a letter to Arvind Kejriwal “and if he has guts then he should reply to it”.

On Sunday, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann addressed a rally at Sonaram field in Guwahati.

This was the first ever political rally of Arvind Kejriwal in Assam.

While addressing the rally, Kejriwal said, “If AAP wins, every child of Assam will get employment. With the speed with which Himanta Biswa Sarma is giving employment, I think it’ll take hundred years to provide jobs to all.”

“Poor will never get education in a state where the CM’s wife runs private school,” he asserted.

The Arvind Kejriwal led-AAP has been trying to create a space in Assam politics.

Launching a scathing attack on Sarma, the Delhi CM stated that the Assam chief minister “has a lot to learn from the Assamese people”.

Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had earlier dared ‘coward’ Arvind Kejriwal to accuse him of being corrupt during the Delhi chief minister’s Assam tour.

From then the ‘war of words’ has been going on between the CMs.
