Guwahati, March 03: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday inaugurated two significant projects aimed at the enhancement of the welfare and healthcare infrastructure in the state.
CM Himanta inaugurated a night shelter for home and construction workers in Rehabari, and a PET CT scan service at Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute.
Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the newly inaugurated night shelter, constructed at a cost of Rs 15 crore, marks a significant milestone as the first of its kind dedicated to home and construction workers in Assam.
The facility offers lodging facilities for up to 200 workers at Rs 70 per night, addressing their immediate housing needs.
CM Himanta Biswa Sarma also inaugurated a PET CT scan service at Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute constructed at an investment of Rs 13.15 crore. The advanced PET CT scan technology is expected to play a crucial role in addressing the needs of cancer patients in the region.
