Guwhathi, June 11: Suspected Jihadi leader Hafizur Rahman was detained on Saturday by the National Investigating Agency (NIA), days after getting bail.
Hafizur Rahman, who is a Karaiyarana Madrasa teacher, was arrested from his residence at Kabaitari in Jogighopa.
He was taken into custody with the help of Jogighopa police along with a the NIA team.
Last year on August 26, the Goalpara district police arrested Markazul Arif of Kabaitari and Mufti Hafizur Rahman for their alleged involvement in jihadi activities.
Their arrest were made at a time when people across the country reacted over the madrasa eviction.
Following his arrest, Hafizur Rahman was sent to jail custody by the Goalpara district police after the investigation.
Hafizur Rahman’s house was raided again after he was relased on bail.
