Guwahati, June 6: A demposed carcass of a Royal Bengal tiger was found at Borsola in Assam’s Sonitpur district on Sunday.
The carcass of the tiger was dug out by the forest department after getting information.
“We got information that a tiger carcass was burried in a house of a person. Our forest team rushed to the spot and started search operation. During our search operation, we have recovered a decomposed carcass of a Royal Bengal tiger,” said a forest official.
He said, “We suspect that someone killed the tiger in revenge and burried his carcass. The person from where we have recovered the carcass of the animal fled away with his family members. We suspect that he had committed the crime.”
“Recently, we have trapped a Royal Bengal tiger in Borsola. The villagers informed us about the tiger who was seen roaming in village area. We tranqualised the tiger and later released him in wild,” the official said.
He further added, “As per protocol we have burned the carcass of the tiger in front of police and district officials.”
