Guwahati, July 12: Assam director general of police (DGP) GP Singh on Tuesday informed that as many as 24 policemen in the state have been dismissed from service since February this year.
He said that since February 1, 2023 at least 24 police personnel of different ranks in Assam were dismissed from service.
“Assam police has dismissed from service twenty four (24) police personnel of different ranks since February 1st, 2023 till date,” said DGP GP Singh.

Few days back a Assam police officer was dismissed from service.
The dismissed officer was identified as Dhiraj Jyoti Namasudra, serving as a police sub-inspector (SI) at the Gohpur police station in Bishwanath district of Assam.
Also, Dhiraj Jyoti Namasudra, was caught red-handed while taking bribe by the sleuths of directorate of vigilance and anti-corruption on December 8, 2022.
