Boko, 11 June: Locals of the Baghorgaon village under Boko Police Station in Kamrup district apprehended a drug peddler and two drug addicts on Tuesday morning.

According to villagers, they had kept vigil on the suspects’ suspicious activities for the past few days. The individuals were caught when the peddler was attempting to sell drug containers to the youths.

Villagers recovered a total of six drug containers from the suspects’ possession. After being informed, officials from Boko Police Station arrived at the scene and took the suspects into custody. Further investigation is ongoing.

It is worth mentioning that the anti-drug awareness campaign initiated by the locals has significantly impacted the community’s efforts to combat drug-related issues in the Boko district of Kamrup.
