Must read

Guwahati, Jan 1: In a significant push towards eco-friendly transportation, Assan Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today inaugurated 56 new AC electric buses for Guwahati and unveiled the newly constructed Mini Inter-State Bus Terminal at Khanapara.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Sarma highlighted the state government’s commitment to a sustainable future, announcing the phased replacement of diesel buses in Guwahati with electric alternatives. By 2026, over 356 electric buses will join the city’s fleet, phasing out all diesel buses under the PM e-Bus Sewa initiative, which will add 100 additional buses. He stated that these steps aim to transform Guwahati into a “green corridor.”
