Guwahati, May 18: In a heart-wrenching incident, a 21-year-old Football player who played at the district level, died during practice in Jorhat town in Assam. The news of his untimely demise has left the sports community in shock.
According to reports, Rishiraj Bora was playing football with other colleagues at Jorhat Agriculture University field on Friday evening. While playing, he suddenly collapsed. He was immediately rushed to Jorhat Medical College Hospital, but doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
Rishiraj had a promising career. He represented Jorhat District in the under-13 and under-15 football tournaments. He was also a regular player for the All Star Club in the Jorhat District A Division Football Tournament until 2022. He was actively involved with the District Sports Association and the All Star Club.
The sudden death of the young footballer has cast a pall of grief in Jorhat, leaving his colleagues, friends, and family in mourning.
