Deomali, Feb 7: Issues related to interstate boundary disputes between Assam and Arunachal Pradesh hit the headlines, several times. Initiatives were taken up by the governments of both states, to create an atmosphere of brotherhood. To take a step further the setting up a Namghar and Heritage Centre at Namsang in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, sets a new example.
The project is a dream project of Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Naharkatia MLA Taranga Gogoi and Arunachal Pradesh forest minister Wanki Lowang.
A 5-crore budget for the construction of the historic project has been sanctioned by Dr. Sarma and the first instalment of 2- crore has been released.
The 3 Bigha land in which the project is coming up is provided by the Arunachal Pradesh government and the approach road is built by Arunachal Pradesh.

MLA Taranga Gogoi and Dibrugarh District Commissioner Bikram Kairi and Arunachal minister Lowang and Zila Parishad Member Wanphoon Lowang are jointly monitoring the progress of the project on ground.
There are around 80 Assamese families in the Deomali area of the district who are feeling elated due to the coming up of the project.
They had expressed their gratitude towards the Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for sanctioning the project. It might be mentioned that earlier there were 60 Namghars in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh, but today owing to certain reasons, there are only 7 namghars in the district.
