Assam Govt allows shops, business establishment to remain open 24×7 in Guwahati, Dibrugarh & Silchar

Guwahati, March 20: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday announced that his council of ministers has approved a policy allowing shops and business establishments to operate 24 hours a day in Guwahati, Dibrugarh and Silchar.

Addressing a press conference, Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “Today, in a cabinet meeting, we have taken a decision to allow shops and business establishments to operate 24 hours a day in Guwahati, Dibrugarh and Silchar.”

In another major announcement, he said Assam government will provide PRC to Moran community. “The Moran community which lived in Arunachal Pradesh will get PRC from Assam government if they applied.” He mentioned that recently a delegation of Moran community met him and apprised of their problems. “If they applied for PRC, we will give them (PRC),” he affirmed.

Additionally, Assam government has approved Rs 262 crores for the construction of roads in tea garden areas.

“The state government will observed the birth centenary of ex-chief minister Glop Chandra Borbora of Assam who was the first non-Congress chief minister of Assam,” Sarma added.

Further, he announced government’s decision to do away with age restriction for National Health Mission employees if they apply in the State health department.
