Assam Govt sponsor 25,000 pilgrims for Ram Mandir visit

Guwahati, Feb 13: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday announced that the state government will sponsor about 25,000 pilgrims from the state to visit the Ram Temple at Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh.

Speaking at the assembly, the Chief Minister informed that since the inauguration of the temple, more than a million devotees and pilgrims have visited the holy site to offer prayers. He further told that already pilgrims from Assam have started visiting the temple.

Sarma announcement has made the devotees excited.

“We like to thank Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for the announcement. It will great help for the pilgrims who want to visit Ram Temple but due to poor financial condition, they could not make it. But now, they can easily visit,” said Kaushal Bawari, a devotee, who have visited the temple recently.

Consecration of the Ram temple took place on January 22 in a ceremony presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event was attended by thousands of VVIPs, including politicians, cricketers, industrialists, spiritual leaders etc.
