Guwahati, Sept 14: Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday informed that the state government has decided to transfer 32 cases in connection with the Rs 2200 crore online trading scam to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Talking to reporters, Assam CM said the decision was taken after discussing the matter with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Sarma also mentioned that any future cases registered in connection with the scam will be considered for handing over to the CBI.
The CM recently said the state government had also written to the Enforcement Directorate and Income Tax department seeking their help to unravel the money trail in the alleged scam.
The transfer process is expected to take around a month due to procedural requirements, and until then, the Assam police will continue their investigations.
