Guwahati, Sept 22: Assam Governor Laxman Prasad Acharya on Sunday visited key border outpost of R R Kutti in Dhubri district of Assam.
Governor was warmly received by Makrand Deuoskar, Inspector General, BSF Guwahati Frontier.
They held discussions on the operational preparedness and functioning of the BSF along the International Border.
The Governor was honored with a Guard of Honor on this occasion.
Assam Governor interacted with field commanders, Seema Praharis, and representatives of the local border population.
As part of his visit, he planted a sapling to encourage environmental protection and promote greenery in the region.
The Governor lauded the BSF personnel for their unwavering dedication and commitment to duty, stating that the nation is indebted to these bravehearts whose service instills confidence and pride among the people of India.
He assured the full support of the state government in coordinating efforts to prevent border crimes and facilitate cooperation with the local police.
