Guwahati, Dec 28: In a shocking incident from Batadrava, Nagaon, a woman health worker was allegedly abducted by four individuals, forced to consume a toxic substance, and left critically injured by the roadside.
The victim, who works at a private clinic in Nagaon, was reportedly attacked by a man identified as Bilal Uddin after she rejected his love proposal. According to reports, she was also stabbed during the attack.
CCTV footage revealed that the health worker was forcibly taken by three college girls and the man, believed to be her jilted lover. The group, dressed in uniforms, orchestrated the abduction, leaving the victim gravely injured on a highway near Batadrava.
The Batadrava police, upon finding her unconscious two hours later, rushed her to Nagaon Metro Hospital, where she is currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Authorities have launched an investigation into the case.
This assault comes just two days after a separate tragic incident in which a woman succumbed to her injuries after being stabbed by her alleged lover on December 26, raising concerns over the rising cases of violence against women in the region.
