Dibrugarh, Aug 12: The Union Minister of Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, was joined by hundreds of enthusiasts as the BJP Yuva Morcha of Tinsukia organised a Bike Rally to celebrate the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign in eastern Assam’s Tinsukia district on Monday.
The rally was organised to dedicate the spirit of Tiranga with active participation from locales, youth volunteers, representatives of many social organisation, leaders, among others participated to make it a grand success.
As called by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Har Ghar Tiranga is being celebrated on the eve of Independence Day.
Speaking on the occasion, the Union Minister said, “‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is a wonderful celebration of the spirit of Tiranga. This bike rally is an attempt to celebrate this spirit. With active participation of youths of this region, it is heartwarming feeling to witness how the young generation is etched to the spirit of nationalism and nationhood. We have got this freedom, this precious independence due to the sacrifice of thousands of freedom fighters.
We must remember their sacrifice and ensure that the young people of our country are aware about such heroic deeds. This will not only bolster the spirit of nation but also drive selfless commitment to the cause of nation building. I must thank our Prime Minister Narendra Modi for calling everyone to celebrate ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ to celebrate spirit of freedom and independence.”
Sonowal led the rally which began from Chaliha Nagar and then move through Tinikunia, AT Road, Bus Stand, Chirwapatty Road, Khargeswar Bazaar before culminating at Chaliha Nagar, thereby completing a distance of 9 Kms. Sonowal also offered floral tributes at the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial near Khargeswar Market in the city.
The Minister of Labour Welfare Department, Govt of Assam, Sanjay Kishan; the District President (Tinsukia) of BJP, Kushakanta Borah; the Vice Chairman, Assam Tourism Development Corporation (ATDC), Rituparna Baruah; the General Secretary, BJP Assam Pradesh, Pulak Gohain; the Chairman, Dibrugarh Development Authority, Ashim Hazarika; the President, Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Siddhartha Baruah among others joined the Bike Rally.
