Guwahati, May 10: Assam government has launched a dedicated 24×7 helpline service to ensure the safety and well-being of its students studying outside the state.
The initiative has been launched in light of rising tensions between India and Pakistan, with the government prioritizing the safe return and support of students during uncertain times.
The initiative is aimed at providing timely assistance to students from Assam who may face challenges or emergencies while pursuing education in different parts of the country.

Students can now directly reach out to the Assam Bhawan in New Delhi for support. The designated officials for this initiative are Ranadip Kumar Dam, ACS, Joint Secretary, GAD & OSD, and Vinod Kalita, House Manager of Assam Bhawan. They can be contacted at 9874355305 (Dam) and 8920570507 (Kalita).
In addition, an emergency helpline has also been set up to cater to urgent situations. The numbers for immediate assistance are 011-23010298 and 011-26877111.
