Guwahati, May 11: A minor was killed in a grenade blast at Kathakathini, Jagun in the upper Assam Tinsukia district on Tuesday morning.

The deceased was identified as Suraj Hajong(12).

Sources said miscreants placed the grenade at a roadside in Kathakathini suddenly it blasted.

According to eyewitness, the minor with his bicycle passing through the roadside and suddenly the grenade blasted.

“Right now we cannot ascertain about the blast. But it was suspected grenade blast. We have started the investigation,” said Tinsukia SP Vaibhav Nimbalkar.

Tinsukia SP Vaibhav Nimbalkar and a team of policemen from Tinsukia rushed to the spot to take stock of the situation.

“We don’t know how the grenade was blasted or who placed the grenade at the roadside. Investigation is on,” said a police source.
