Dibrugarh, Sept 12: In a serious blow to insurgent groups operating in Upper Assam, Indian Army apprehended an NSCM(IM) cadre and recovered war like stores from Inthem Ghat in Pengree in eastern Assam Tinsukia on Thursday.
Acting on intelligence inputs, troops of Indian Army along with Assam Police launched a joint search operation in the early hours of Thursday in the area and apprehended a cadre, and recovered two pistols, three grenades and ammunition.
The recovered arms and ammunition were intended for use in carrying out subversive activities in the region.
The apprehended individual has been handed over to Assam Police for further investigation and legal action.
This successful operation highlights the ongoing efforts of the security forces to ensure the safety and stability of the region.
The collaboration between the Indian Army and local police continues to be instrumental in countering insurgent threats and maintaining public security.
