“Assam’s economic growth reflects the success of our development strategies and governance. Surpassing Punjab in GDP will symbolize the new economic standing of Assam in India,” Sarma stated.

This growth trajectory is supported by initiatives such as the Orunodoi scheme, which has expanded from 1.83 lakh beneficiaries in 2021 to 24 lakh in 2024, with ₹3,681 crore invested this year. The Mukhyamantri Atmanirbhar Abhiyan and Mission Basundhara have also contributed significantly by empowering youth and resolving long-standing land ownership issues, respectively.
