Guwahati, Nov 15: Assam Police detained six Bangladeshi nationals in Karimganj district on Thursday, marking another incident of illegal entry along the Indo-Bangladesh border. The apprehended individuals, identified as Tarique Anowar, Dayal Mall, Monu Mall, and Shajahan Mall, were found to have crossed into India unlawfully.
Officials stated that the detainees underwent questioning before being deported back to Bangladesh in coordination with border security agencies, ensuring a safe handover across the international boundary.
Illegal infiltration remains a persistent challenge for Assam, a state sharing both cultural and geographical ties with neighboring Bangladesh.
