Guwahati, April 9: Assam Police have busted a large international network involved in two-wheeler thefts in Bajali district.
Police have arrested six individuals linked to the racket.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Nayan Deka from Bagan Para, Ratan Boro and Lokman Boro, Dhanjit Boro from Shimla, Sanjay Boro from Palha Shimlubari, and Nirmal Kalita from Kadamtola.

All six are allegedly part of a larger gang responsible for multiple vehicle thefts in the region and beyond.
The operation was led by Additional Superintendent of Police Trinayan Bhuyan.
During the raid, police successfully recovered three stolen motorcycles.

“All six were involved in this racket and had been stealing motorcycles from different areas for many days. It’s a major international bike theft network. We have begun our interrogation,” said a police official.
He added, “These individuals were involved in a series of bike thefts in various parts of Bajali over a long period.”
Sources said the stolen bikes were smuggled into Myanmar via the Dimapur route.
“It’s a big racket with many people involved. After stealing the bikes, they modified them in certain garages before selling them in other states,” said a source.
