Guwahati, Oct 8: Assam Police has seized drugs worth over Rs 8 crore in the last few days as it has upped the ante against the drug peddling and smuggling.
In multiple raids across the state based on credible inputs, seizures were made along NH 15, Silchar, and Ramnagar.
In the first operation, 314 kilograms of ganja worth Rs. 1.57 crore was seized by Biswanath Police from a vehicle at Naka Point on National Highway 15.
In another operation, Cachar Police conducted two special raids in Silchar and Ramnagar, recovering 572 grams of heroin and 10,000 YABA tablets, estimated to be worth Rs. 7 crore in total. One individual has been apprehended in connection with these recoveries.
