Guwahati, Sept 16: Renowned photojournalist from Assam, Luit Chaliha, passed away on Sunday after suffering from liver related ailment in Sivasagar.
Chaliha was a reputed photojournalist based in Assam, who has contributed immensely to Photojournalism.
He was an internationally acclaimed photographer, a passionate story teller of the region who through his lens captured human-interest stories for various media organisations.
The Assam Photojournalists’ Association (APJA) said they are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of renowned photojournalist.
It said, “Luit’s untimely departure has left a void in the world of photojournalism, and we mourn the loss of a talented and dedicated professional who tirelessly captured the essence of Assam’s stories through his lens.”
“We remember Luit for his exceptional skills, creativity, and passion for photography, which inspired countless others in the field. His contributions to the world of photojournalism will be cherished and remembered forever,” said President and General Secretary of the Assam Photojournalists’ Association.
