Dibrugarh, Feb 10: In an initiative to foster national integration and provide transformative exposure to students, Assam Rifles officially flagged off a 13-day National Integration Tour from the Golden Pagoda, Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh on Monday.
The tour was inaugurated by Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein and Deputy Inspector General, 25 Sector Assam Rifles.
This initiative marks a pivotal step in empowering 30 girl students from Arunachal University of Studies, Namsai, offering them an opportunity to explore India’s diverse cultural and historical heritage.
During the tour the students will explore multiple destinations, including Kaziranga National Park, Brahmaputra river cruise in Guwahati, Science City, Howrah Bridge and Fort William in Kolkata, Kohima War Memorial and Assam Rifles Headquarters in Shillong.
The event will culminate on 21 February 2025 in Kohima. The students will be interacting with officials of the Indian Army, Assam Rifles and also Governor of Assam, adding a unique learning dimension to their journey.
To promote inclusivity among the diverse tribes of Arunachal Pradesh, the tour comprises of 30 girl students representing a majority of the state’s tribes for a unique cultural and educational experience.
By immersing them in the nation’s rich heritage and history, this initiative aims to broaden their perspectives and deepen their knowledge for India’s cultural diversity.
