Aizawl, Feb 8: In a significant operation, the Assam Rifles has intercepted a substantial cache of explosives and bomb-making materials in Mizoram, leading to the arrest of two individuals, including a woman.
Acting on precise intelligence inputs, the paramilitary force personnel halted a Bolero car at a mobile vehicle check-post along the Sangau Pankhua road in Lawngtlai district late Tuesday night.
During the interception, detention of two people, including a woman were apprehended. Upon searching the vehicle, authorities discovered 150 kg of explosives, 1,800 detonators, and over 3 km of cordtex.
The apprehended individuals, along with the recovered items, have been transferred to the local police for further investigation.
