Guwahati, May 4: Assam Rifles troopers apprehended a youth from Nagaland Mon district who was on his way to Myanmar to join the banned militant organisation United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I).
The youth has been identified as Munindra Das Narayan. He hails from Udoipur Merapani village in Assam’s Golaghat district.
Assam Rifles later handed him over to Charaideo police.
On May 3, the Assam Rifles troopers stationed in Nagaland received information that a youth from Assam had been going to join the banned outfit. They launched an operation in Mon and successfully apprehended the youth and handed him over to police.
According to police, the youth was on his way to join the banned militant organisation ULFA-I.
