Tinsukia, Aug 1: In a shocking incident, a dead body of a 10th standard student was found inside a school hostel in eastern Assam’s Jagun on Thursday morning.

The deceased student has been identified as Gamrin Mukut from Lekhapani town.

According to reports, the body was recovered inside the hostel in a hanging position. The name of the school is St. Paul’s School and it is located in 4 Mile area of Jagun.

An irate mob gathered inside the campus and the situation is tense as locals said that they suspect foul play as the hands of the student were found to be tied up.

SDPO, Margherita Samvhabi Mishra has rushed to the spot with security forces.

“We have initiated an investigation into the matter. The exact circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be determined,” said a police official.
