Assam: Several villages of Mankachar inundated after incessant rain in Meghalaya’s Garo hills

Guwahati, Oct 5: Due to incessant rains for last several days in Meghalaya’s Garo hills, several villages of Assam’s Mankachar were inundated.

Most of the villages of Mankachar were badly affected due to flood like situation. The paddy fields have been damaged in the flood.

The villages affected are- Tapore para, Kumarghati, Kalapani, Kazipur, Chirakhowa, Binachatta, Bengaibeta.

Rainwater flowing down from the West Garo Hills of Meghalaya has now created flood-like situation in Mankachar.

“We are having problem due to flood like situation in our area. Rainwater flowing from Garo hills have created flash flood in our village,” said a resident.
