Assam showcases investment potential at Bengaluru roadshow

Guwahati, Jan 21: Assam Health and Irrigation Minister Ashok Singhal hosted a high-profile Investors’ Roadshow at Hotel ITC Gardenia, Bengaluru, setting the stage for the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0: Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025, scheduled for February 25-26 in Guwahati.

Addressing over 200 investors, industry leaders, and policymakers, Singhal emphasized Assam’s strategic location as India’s gateway to South and Southeast Asia, with access to 30% of the global population within a 3-4 hour flight.

Highlighting Assam’s economic growth, Singhal noted the state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) rise from $29 billion in 2013-14 to $68.7 billion in 2023-24, projecting $85.8 billion for the upcoming year. He outlined marquee projects such as India’s first International Multi-Modal Logistics Park in Jogighopa, the Dhubri-Phulbari Bridge, Tata OSAT’s ₹27,000 crore semiconductor project, and elevated corridors in Kaziranga National Park.

The Minister spotlighted advancements in green hydrogen, electronics manufacturing, aerospace, defence, IT, and food processing, reinforcing Assam’s position as a prime investment destination. He also announced a grand cultural performance on February 24, featuring 8,000 youth in a traditional Jhumur dance, ahead of the summit’s inauguration by the Prime Minister.

Industry experts, including K. Ullas Kamath, Dr. P. Ashok Babu, and Nitin Basant, addressed attendees, sharing insights on Assam’s investment potential, incentives, and business-friendly policies. B2G meetings with companies like Shahi Exports, Apollo Hospitals, and Teva Pharmaceuticals saw keen interest across diverse sectors.
