Guwahati, July 30: The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption of Assam on Sunday caught Sub Inspector (UB) Pranab Nath of Jorhat Sadar Police Station, District-Jorhat  red-handed after he accepted Rs. 20,000 as a bribe from the complainant for giving relief in a criminal case.
Following which, the DGP of Assam Police, G.P. Singh, called the incident a “disgrace” to the state Police.
He also Tweeted, “similar future awaits him as so many before him. We are relentless, uncompromising, and constant in our approach to the scourge of corruption in public life.”
