Guwahati, June 17: In a tragic incident, a worker of a sweet factory was killed in Dhirenpara area in Assam’s Guwahati after a guard wall collapsed and fell on him on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Mukhtar Ali.

According to reports, when the wall collapsed, Mukhtar was working at the factory premises and was later found buried beneath the rubble.

Following the incident the city police of the Guwahati and SDRF rushed to the spot and rescue the deceased person.

The incident is said to have occurred due to the continuous heavy rainfall in Guwahati over the past few days.

Due to continuous rainfall, the small business unit, located on Sonali Path in the Dhirenpara locality, was severely affected by the collapsing wall.

Meanwhile, the body has been sent for post-mortem.
