Guwahati, June 11: In yet another tragic incident, two people died after being run over by a train in Assam’s Karimganj district.

The two deceased have been identified as Archana Nath and Jayanta Das.

Jayanta was a resident from Chandrapur, Bazaricherra while Archana was from Baraigram.

According to reports, the tragic incident took place around 2.40 am on Friday night between Baraigram and Kanaibazar railway stations in Karimganj district.

On Saturday morning, the Railway police personnel of Baraigram outpost recovered the bodies and was sent to Karimganj Civil hospital for post-mortem.

Police officer said that an investigation into this case have started and it is at a preliminary stage.
