Assam: Two killed, two injured in high-speed collision of SUVs in Khanapara

Guwahati, Nov 1: Two people lost their lives in a tragic accident in Guwahati’s Khanapara area on Friday.

Two Scorpio vehicles were involved in a head-on collision on GS Road in Khanapara area early in the morning, resulting in the death of the two persons – a man and a woman.

A police official stated that the accident occurred when one of the vehicles, a white coloured Scorpio SUV, was making a U-turn at the Assam Rifles Transit Camp point when the other vehicle, a black coloured Scorpio SUV, in high speed crashed onto the turning SUV.

The impact of the collision was so severe that the black SUV climbed onto the footbridge, broke its railings and then fell back on the road.

Both the vehicles were completely damaged in the collision.

The deceased have been identified as Dipit Dey and Konamika Narzery.

The tragic accident also resulted in injury to two other persons, who has been admitted to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for medical treatment.

Meanwhile, Assam Police have launched a probe into the accident.
