Guwahati, Dec 9: A ward boy was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor patient admitted at Metro Hospital in Guwahati.

The ward boy has been identified as Jadav Nath.

According to reports, the ward sexually assaulted the minor patient who was brought to the private hospital for treatment.

On the other hand, the hospital management fired him for his service and filed a case at Basistha police station.

The ward boy was in an inebriated state when he tried to commit the crime.

“Yesterday, we received a complaint from a minor girl who was admitted to our hospital that a ward boy had badly touched her. We immediately fired him from his service and filed an FIR at the police station against the ward boy. Earlier, we have not got any complaint against him,” said a doctor of Metro Hospital.

He said, “The ward boy was not under the influence of alcohol because we have our security and if he was under the influence of alcohol, he was caught by our security,”.

Meanwhile, police have started an investigation into the case.
