Guwahati, Feb 24: A decomposed body of a man in unclothed state was found in Assam’s Sribhumi after he went missing for five days.
According to police, the man went missing after attending a friend’s wedding in Sribhumi.
The deceased has been identified as- Salim Uddin who attended a wedding on February 18 but failed to return home.
Police have detained two individuals Jakir Hussain and Asad Uddin as part of the investigation.
Both are residents of the same village as the deceased belongs.
His family lodged a missing person report at Badarpur police station, promoting a search operation.
“We have received a tip-off about a body near a hill in the Bagargul area. Upon recovering the body it has been confirmed it was Salim Uddin’s body. The body has been sent for post mortem but it was in a decomposed state,” said a police official.
