Shillong, Aug 09: The collaborative efforts of the State Rural Employment Society Community & Rural Development Department and the office of the Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, bore fruit as they organized a noteworthy event in the form of the “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” with the “Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign” on Wednesday at Nongthymmai Lumthangding.
Simultaneously, the day marked a significant statewide launch of the Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign. This endeavour serves as a culmination of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and the Samagra Awaas initiative.
Speaking at the occasion as the chief guest, State Power Minister A.T. Mondal underscored the programme’s essence in commemorating Azadi ka Mahotsav. Mondal highlighted the visionary aspirations of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who envisions India as an economically vibrant nation.
F.R. Kharkongor, Commissioner and Secretary of the Community & Rural Development department, articulated the program’s significance as a gesture of paying homage to the soil and expressing reverence for the nation’s heroes. This sentiment of gratitude and respect was echoed throughout the event, instilling a deep sense of national pride among the attendees.
