Tura, Sept 7: Border sentinels BSF took part in a keenly watched contest with their counterparts Border Guards of Bangladesh in South West Garo Hills Mahendraganj border outpost on Wednesday in the presence of hundreds of villagers who joined the game with their support for the contestants.
A 15 member delegation from Border Guards of Bangladesh led by the commanding officer of the 35 Battalion of BGB, Md. Muntasir Mahmun and staff officer Md Samsul Hoque crossed the international border to take part in the contest.
India’s BSF was led by DIG, Tura Sector Headquarters BSF, Alok Kumar Singh and commanding officer of 28 Bn BSF S K Mishra.
A best of three games was played at the event with the hosts BSF winning all three games.
1st game: BSF:- 25 BGB:- 19
2nd game: BSF:- 25 BGB:- 07
3rd game: BSF:- 25 BGB:- 18.
