Shillong, Sept 18: The Meghalaya Cricket Association (MCA) has tied up with Vadodara Cricket Academy (VCA) through the Baroda (Vadodara) Cricket Association (BCA) for the junior under 19 boys state camp at Vadodara, Gujarat. The Honorary Secretary of Meghalaya Cricket Association, Gideon Kharkongor accompanied by its vice president, Dipul Ryntathiang met the CEO of BCA, Shishir Hattangadi and Director of VCA, Harendra Patel in the presence of other officials at Vadodara and discussed ways and means to uplift cricket in the state of Meghalaya and the region.

Kharkongor said the state is in a disadvantageous position due to its geographical location and climatic conditions which gives players only about 3 months in a year to play cricket. Hence, the state needed to look for places with less impact of the monsoon and having one of the finest facilities of cricket in the country.
Vadodara, which is the hot bed of cricket in the country, has offered Meghalaya facilities like grounds, gym, swimming pool etc besides playing with different academy teams of the association. Many eminent cricketers like Munaf Patel, the Pathan brothers and others are likely to provide motivation to the boys.

Meghalaya is sending all teams to different parts of the country for the different state camps before the BCCI tournaments which starts from 20th of September at Ranchi. The girls under 19 are currently at Just Cricket Academy at Bengaluru, the senior girls will be at Cricket School Bengaluru, the under 25 men at VCA VizaqVizaq while the senior men at Puducherry.
