Shillong, July 17: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Monday paid his homage to freedom fighter U Tirot Sing Syiem on his 188th Death Anniversary.
Taking to Twitter, CM wrote, “Better die an independent king than reign as the vassal” On his 188th Death Anniversary, we pay homage to U Tirot Sing Syiem, the great freedom fighter of Meghalaya who fought till his last breath to prevent Khasi Hills from falling into the hands of the British colonizers.”

CM Conrad also paid floral tribute to the legendary Freedom Fighter, U Tirot Sing at Mairang.
